Reaching Students

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16)  Knowing that His desire is that none should perish but all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), the first part of what I do is to bring students into relationship with Jesus.

The team I am part of are committed to meeting the students in their environment, building relationship with them and introducing them to the reality of the Good News in a way that they can understand and take hold of.  This means spending most of my time amongst the students, having "fresh-start" conversations with some students and building relationships with students I have already met.

Making Disciples

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)  Making disciples is critical.

We help students to grow in their relationship with God and to build strong Godly foundations so that they can stand be all that God has created them to be.  In order for the kingdom of God to grow on the campus and in the clubs the people we introduce to God, and help to mentor, need to be able to do the same thing with the people in their spheres of influence.  We are committed to making disciple-making disciples.

Raising Leaders

We love to see the students we work with becoming people of influence.  Whether it be amongst friends, in student government or in the workplace, Christian students are to be people who influence those around them.  We are aiming to equip the students for the challenges they will face during university and in their places of work after graduation.

We create opportunities to help students develop their gifts and grow in their leadership skills.  This includes, but is not limited to, seminars and linking students up with people who are working in the field of work the students are training for.

Transforming Culture

As more and more people within a culture are committed to living how God has commanded us to live, the culture will be transformed for the better.  As Biblical principles are applied to student life the campus will be transformed.

As students graduate and move into places of work we are committed to doing what we can to ensure that the transformation spreads to their workplaces.

We are committed to fervently praying for our campus to see it changed by the power of God.  We also work within the system to give Christian students a voice in student government.
